Today we catch the train as we always do but the mornings are getting lighter and so is the chatter. Amazing how daylight makes people more friendly and less guarded.
The regular conductors now know what our ‘usual’ tickets are and regular passengers smile and gesture for my daughter to board first before returning to their mobile phones. This is progress.
So today I join the mobile users having finished ‘peaches for monsieur le cure’ yesterday and I am reluctant to start a new book while I remember and think through the plot and the relationships in the one I’ve just finished. A sign of a good book, tears at the end, completely engaged with the characters.
Something will need to detract from the chap snoring in the seats next to us today however 🙂
